Google Thursday released Google Page Creator, a Web-based, what-you-see-is-what-you-get HTML editing tool, which allows users to create their own Web pages, complete with a free hosting service and
100 megabytes of storage. Sign-ups to the service, according a Google spokeswoman, were halted midday Thursday due to "extraordinary demand," which led the site to reach its pre-determined number of
users earlier than expected. The service is hosted on Google Labs, a sort of pre-beta area for nascent Google services--and, according to the spokeswoman, signups will resume shortly.
