Google Pack Dumps Trillian

  • May 22, 2006
Trillian, the open source, multi-platform instant messaging client, has been dropped from the Google Pack, a spokeswoman for the search giant confirmed Friday. Trillian--which competes with Google's own Google Talk--was quietly removed from the Google Pack, a set of software for new computer users that includes Google Desktop, Google Earth, Norton Antivirus, Firefox, and Adaware. Google did not comment on the reason for dropping Trillian. "Google Pack is currently in beta, and the selection of software available through the Pack will continue to evolve," a Google spokewoman said.
