Gemstar-TV Guide has purchased Jumptheshark.com, a TV site where fans vent about shows they think are on the decline. The phrase "jump the shark" comes from an episode of "Happy Days" where Fonzie jumped over a shark while water-skiing. Gemstar-TV Guide intends to develop and promote the site, while Jump the Shark, Inc. founder Jon Hein will provide editorial services for Gemstar-TV Guide.
