In the latest phase of the campaign to promote its new calling plan, Little Rock, Ark.-based wireless company Alltel has planted a story about the staged vandalism of billboards in the five leading
markets advertising its "My Circle" program. The company released a statement yesterday saying that four men wearing colored polo shirts like those in its current TV spot have defaced company
billboards in Phoenix, Charlotte, Raleigh, Tampa and Little Rock, writing "Don't" in orange paint above the description of My Circle: "Call anyone on any network for free."
