The Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. on Monday announced it has elected William D. Perez as president/CEO and a member of the board of directors. Bill Wrigley, Jr., who had been serving as chairman, president and
CEO, has been elected to the new role of executive chairman while continuing on the board of directors. Perez spent 34 years with SC Johnson, including eight years as president/CEO. He joined Nike,
Inc. in 2004 as president/CEO. Meanwhile, third-quarter sales were $1.18 billion, Wrigley announced--an increase of 11 percent on worldwide shipment increases of 9 percent. Net earnings for the
quarter were $0.53 per diluted share versus $0.46 for the year-ago period--an increase of 15 percent.
