TBS, MySpace Give New Comedians A Chance

  • October 27, 2006
TBS is teaming up with MySpace to give new comic talent a shot in the "Stand Up or Sit Down Comedy Challenge." The online contest invites amateur or rising comics to submit video samples of their work through a MySpace profile. Beginning this week, MySpace users can vote for the top finalists, and five will be invited to perform in a one-hour special hosted by comedian George Lopez and filmed at The Comedy Festival in Las Vegas. The special will premiere on TBS on Friday, Nov. 17, at 10 p.m. MySpace viewers can vote after the special. The winner will be announced live on the Comic Relief 2006 special on Nov. 18. The winner will receive $50,000, a development deal, and other prizes.
