Media General today reported January 2007 total revenues of $80.7 million, a 4.7% increase over the same period last year. That figure includes revenues of four NBC television stations acquired June
26, 2006. Excluding the new stations, total revenues decreased 3.5%. By business segment, Publishing Division total revenues declined 6.8%; Broadcast Division total revenues increased 30.2%--or 1.4%,
excluding the new stations; and Interactive Media Division total revenues rose 32.7%. Also, employment declined 13% at the company's three metro newspapers:
The Tampa Tribune, the
Richmond
Times-Dispatch and
Winston-Salem Journal.
