The majority of editors across the world are optimistic about the future of their newspapers, an international survey says. The first Newsroom Barometer survey--conducted by the World Editors Forum and Reuters--found that a staggering 85% of editors and news executives of 435 polled were optimistic about the fate of their publications. There was a split, however, about what future newspapers would look like. Forty percent believe they will be an online read, while 35% say print will remain.
