XM Radio Sees Rev Increase In 1Q

XM Satellite Radio announced earnings for the first quarter 2007. Revenue for the period increased 27% year-over-year to $264 million, compared to $208 million in the 2006 first quarter. XM's 2007 first-quarter net loss narrowed to $122 million, representing an 18% improvement, compared to the 2006 first-quarter net loss. The 2007 first quarter adjusted operating loss includes $8 million in expenses related to the company's pending merger with Sirius Satellite Radio. XM ended the first quarter with more than 7.9 million subscribers, compared to 6.5 million subscribers in the prior year period.
