Cars.com Sponsors ABC Prime-time Finales on Web

  • May 18, 2007
Cars.com announced its sponsorship of prime-time programs this week on ABC.com, including "Lost," Desperate Housewives," "Grey's Anatomy," "Ugly Betty" and "Dancing with the Stars." Limited breaks during the shows will showcase the site's current 30-second TV spots. "As we head into the peak car-buying season, advertising on ABC.com provides us with a unique opportunity to reach car buyers at the height of the TV viewing season with the airing of much anticipated season finales," said Carolyn Crafts, vice president of marketing, pointing to "higher advertising recall among streaming video viewers than television viewers of the same shows."

The online buy, from OMD, also includes ad networks and such news and information Web sites as MSN, ESPN.com. MapQuest and CNET.

Cars.com is a division of Classified Ventures, which is owned by Belo, Gannett, McClatchy, Tribune and The Washington Post Co.
