Aegis Shareholders Reject Bollore -- Again

During its annual meeting on Friday, the shareholders of Aegis Group rejected French financier Vincent Bollore's fourth attempt to install two representatives on the Aegis board. "Shareholders have seen no change in circumstances to alter their opposition to board representation for Groupe Bollore - reflecting the importance they attach to keeping the Aegis board completely independent of a competitor," stated Aegis board Chairman Colin Sharman. Bollore, who is chairman of Aegis competitor Havas, is also Aegis largest shareholder, controlling nearly 30% of the shares of the U.K.-based agency holding company.
