Study: Streaming Ad Sales to Hit $1.37 Billion

Streaming media advertising, both video and audio, will reach $1.37 billion in sales this year--a 38% increase over 2006, according to AccuStream iMedia Research.

Not counting user-generated video, AccuStream estimates an inventory of 1.4 billion to 1.6 billion pre-roll avails being sold monthly, with pre-rolls forecast to account for 26.7% of video ad spending in 2007 and 28.5% in 2008. (The figures do not include units sold against long-form content). AccuStream estimated that embedded or in-page placements will account for 58.8% of billings in 2007, and 55.9% in 2008.
