Richard Williams, executive director of digital media operations for Verizon, rattled off some impressive stats on Verizon's mobile use.

He said since speedier 3G handsets were launched, mobile Web use has tripled. (Before 3G, mobile Web pages took about 10 seconds to load. With 3G, pages load in 3-5 seconds.)

In 1st quarter 2007, Verizon customers sent and received 22 billion text messages and 450 million picture and video messages.

Click-through rates on Verizon mobile ads are coming in at more than 10 time the rate of Web ads.
