EchoStar Communication Corp. Friday said the U.S. District Court in San Francisco granted EchoStar's request for a temporary restraining order allowing EchoStar's DISH Network to continue broadcasting
Viacom and CBS channels. In a statement, Viacom said it was "disappointed" with the decision, but remained "highly confident in our position and look forward to the full hearing we will receive at the
preliminary injunction hearing, which has been scheduled for January 23. We continue to believe that EchoStar's suit is a delaying tactic, and that the proper place for this dispute is at the
conference table, not the courtroom."
