NCAA Fans Given Wireless Way To Share Views

  • December 22, 2003
Cingular Wireless is teaming up with CBS Sports to offer a wireless interactive feature that allows NCAA Basketball fans to share their opinions with CBS Sports game announcers during select regular season NCAA Division I men's and women's basketball games. The program was designed to encourage wireless interactivity and create awareness of Multimedia Messaging, the service that allows camera-phone customers to snap photos, add a voice and/or text. The program, called "Cingular Fan in the Stands," will begin prior to tip-off. Viewers will see a Cingular camera phone pan the crowd and capture a fan that will ask CBS Sports game analysts what the keys are to the game. The analysts will then discuss their three "keys to the game." Fans who are Cingular customers will be encouraged to text message which of the three "keys" they believe are most important.

The votes will be tallied in real time and during the "Cingular AT THE HALF" halftime report, the CBS Sports studio announcer will announce the results of viewers' votes and provide his own commentary.
