ZD Game Mag Starts Fast

Ziff Davis Media Game Group announced that its new magazine, GMR, a monthly video and PC game publication, has sold more than 37,000 subscriptions in its first full week (January 6 to January 12). The magazine is an effort between Ziff Davis Media, and Electronics Boutique, a specialty retailers of electronic games. GMR (a contraction for "Gamer") covers games on the PS2, Xbox, GameCube, PC and Game Boy Advance platforms. PC and video gamers have been signing up for subscriptions at Electronics Boutiques stores, as well as other select retailers and on the web. Subscribers who ordered GMR directly from Electronics Boutique are eligible for special promotions and discounts at all of their retail outlets. GMR is a monthly publication guaranteeing an average rate base of 225,000 for 2003.
