"Sarah Connor" Push During World Series

Fox is rolling out its first 45-second trailer for midseason series "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" during game three of the World Series as part of a big promotional push for one of its top prospective hits. "This is the biggest campaign for a new midseason show in years," says Fox executive vice president of marketing and communications Joe Earley. "And I can't remember when we've started a campaign so early."

The show is set to premiere Jan. 14, when Fox really starts its season with the return of "American Idol." And the net will heavily promote "Chronicles" to other sports fans via the Super Bowl and college football's Bowl Championship Series.

The first promos began last month with just two red dots that disappeared after a few seconds with no other information -- a tactic Earley says had some viewers wondering if it was part of a new anti-piracy program. The second phase rolled out later with the more recognizable "Terminator." The third round will include the premiere date, the show's Web address and full-screen graphics.
