MySpaceTV is set to air its first original scripted show this week with the rollout of "Roommates," a fake reality series it hopes will be as successful as "Prom Queen." The net is co-producing the show, airing it exclusively and intends to respond to plot suggestions from MySpace users.

"Users can suggest story lines, and we will take input from viewers from Seattle to Stuttgart who will have a say on where the show should go," says Jeff Berman, general manger of MySpaceTV G.M. The series, which has Ford as its exclusive sponsor, follows a group of college roommates after graduation. It will run until Dec. 21.

The move comes as MySpaceTV tries to push its programming past user-generated and syndicated fare, and as the net ready for a big influx of NBC and News Corp. TV programs. "Our users are consuming an enormous amount of content from a range of sources," Berman says.
