In banner ads on ESPN.com, JCPenney is reaching out to the loutish ranks of fantasy football players, with pre-made e-mail cards offering apologies--in advance--for bad Thanksgiving behavior.

"Apologies for Dummies/fantasy football means always having to say you're sorry" provides pictures of a handsome mannequin, posed with an uncooked turkey, spilling his wine, and lighting the bird on fire. It's all at www.jcpbrands.com/fantasyfootball/apology.html.
