Mobile ad network Ad Infuse has raised $12 million in a second round of venture financing led by SoftBank Capital and including existing investors ComVentures and Storm Ventures.

The company has raised a total of $18 million to date. The new funding will be used to "aggressively extend" the company's market position and improve its rich media ad software and targeting capabilities.

Ad Infuse works with wireless carriers to provide highly targeted ads based on mobile user demographic and behavioral data. Its ads appear in formats including streaming video, mobile games and WAP sites. Advertisers using the Ad Infuse network--serving 500 million monthly impressions--include Unilever, Procter & Gamble, EA Mobile, BMW and Microsoft. As part of its investment, SoftBank Capital's Mike Perlis will join the Ad Infuse board of directors.
