Chrysler Strengthens Brand Approach

Chrysler has announced a new Vehicle Brand Team re-organization to strengthen branding efforts behind the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands. According to Dieter Zetsche, Chrysler Group President and Chief Executive Officer, the initiative consolidates the marketing and product planning structures for each brand. "We aim to make Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge as desirable and strong in the marketplace as Mercedes-Benz is in the high-end luxury segments," said Jim Schroer, Chrysler Group Executive Vice President-Global Sales and Marketing. Newly-appointed marketing vice presidents will have direct control over the budgets for their brands. Their success will be measured by brand strength, the growth of their respective brands, and ultimately, by profit contribution. Each marketing vice president will have a marketing communication and advertising/marketing agency team assigned to the brand, a dealer marketing programs department, and a newly-assigned marketing and product planning director.
