While most of the world has been wondering whether this year's Academy Awards show was even going to happen, thanks to the recently settled writers' strike, L'Oreal Paris was making plans.

The beauty sponsor of this year's Oscars is launching a new color for the big night: Red Carpet Red. Part of its Infallible Never Fail Lipcolour collection, it's packaged in a celebratory gold compact--a limited edition, available for $11.99.

And in the spirit of Hollywood swag, L'Oreal is also offering consumers the chance to win Red Carpet beauty kits, valued at $500.
