As I was flipping through the TV channels last week, I stopped on the Nickelodeon channel. I wanted to watch a sitcom to help wind down from a long day. Nothing makes me relax like a good laugh.
Anyway, on March 19th at 9:15pm EST, the George Lopez Show was airing on the Nickelodeon channel. I noted the time, date and channel after I heard "you don't need a man to have sex". This line was spoken in dialogue between George's mother (a grandmother on the show) and another woman while they were at a bar!
Over Spring Break I enjoyed the Sex and the City marathon I had with two of my girlfriends ... so this I was was numb to this type of conversation. However, at 9:15pm EST WHO ELSE WAS WATCHING NICKELODEON?
One day I hope to have children, and last week I learned a lesson.... while TV watching remains a staple activity in most homes, what show can truly be enjoyed by all members of a family .... whatever happened to the Leave It to Beaver sitcoms that my dad always remembers watching?
Actually, the only thing I remember watching as a family is sports. Now that I am engrossed in all things sports, the HD and extra microphones on the coaches only adds to my clear hearing of whichever curse words Bobby Knight screams to the officials... thanks a lot.
WooHoo Shannon. I've been frustrated for many years that my 9 year old and I have very few shows that we watch together. I'm sorry, Hanna Montana and The Naked Brothers Band just don't cut it. I'm looking for something Happy Days or Mork & Mindy style, that just isn't out there.
Please, please Disney, Nick, and Discovery Kids...
