Weather Channel Opens Hurricane Season with Education

To raise public awareness and help prepare viewers in hurricane-vulnerable areas, The Weather Channel will premiere a special five-part series called Into The Eye airing June 1-6 during Evening Edition from 9-11 p.m. and during Weekend Now between 5-11 a.m. June 7-8.

The first segment, to air will feature Steve Lyons, The Weather Channel's hurricane expert, and be called Wind Adventure. The Weather Channel will continually monitor the potential for tropical storm activity by airing tropical updates at 50 minutes past the hour through October. The Weather Channel Web site - weather.com - will also feature hurricane resources such as Storm Watch, and tropical and severe weather alerts.
