MARY BENNETT, Executive Vice President, National Marketing for the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) will be honored with the Genii Award for Radio from the Southern California Chapter of American Women in Radio & Television (AWRT). The award will be presented during a luncheon ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Friday, May 11, 2001.

The Philadelphia Direct Marketing Association (PDMA) named TOM MCNAMARA, Executive Vice President at CFM Direct, its Direct Marketer of the Year.

At Expedia Travels magazine, MERRI LEE KINGSLY has been named Eastern advertising director, and DENISE MILLER has been named promotions director. Kingsly most recently worked as the travel, wine and spirits director of Bon Appétit. Miller comes to Expedia from Miller Sports Group, where she served as senior marketing manager for Tennis, Cruising World, and Sailing World magazines.

JOSÉ CHAO has been appointed publisher of e-business publication Punto-com. He had served as general manager for Ziff-Davis Events Latin America.

KATHI LOVE, IAN JACK and JULIAN BAIM have been promoted to top positions at Mediamark Research Inc. and within MRI parent United Information Group. Love, who joined MRI in May 2000 as President and Chief Operating Officer from EMAP Petersen Companies Inc., has assumed the post of Chief Executive Officer, a position most recently held by MRI co- founder ALAIN J. TESSIER, who remains the company's Chairman. Jack, who has been MRI's Chief Financial Officer for the past six years, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Baim has held the position of Senior Vice President, Chief Research Officer, since joining MRI in January 1990, and is now Chief Media Research Development Officer for United Information Group.

JEFF GREEN has been appointed editor in chief for Computer Gaming World. He has been with Gaming World for the last five years, most recently as the magazine's executive editor.

JEFF GREIF has been hired by Jungle Interactive Media as their new advertising director. Greif most recently served as the advertising director at George and the fashion director at GQ.

BETH PRESS has been named VP/Publisher of four teen titles published by EMAP USA; TEEN Magazine, All About You, Teen Prom, Teen Quiz.

DAN HSU has been named editor in chief of Electronic Gaming Monthly.

ACTV, Inc. announced the appointment of THOMAS WALSH as president of ACTV subsidiary AdVision Systems, LLC; ROBERT CRAWFORD as Senior Vice President of New Business Development for subsidiary Bottle Rocket Digital; and CHRISTOPHER CLINE as Chief Financial Officer of ACTV. Walsh comes from VisionTel, where he served as president of traffic and billing software. Crawford previously served as director of television services and platform/executive producer for MTV2.com and VH1 Classic.com.

PATTI S. HART has been named chairman and chief executive officer of Excite@Home. Hart most recently served as chairman, president and CEO for DSL provider Telocity Inc.

TONY VALDERRAMA has been hired by Telcom Global Solutions, Inc. as Regional Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Latin America and Caribbean regions.

At TMXinteractive, MARY ELLEN CRONK joins as Chief Financial Officer, and GLENN ELIAS and SUSAN MURPHY sign on as the company's Vice President of Client Services and Vice President of Marketing.

AMIE DEUTCH has been moved up to advertising director at FHM magazine. Deutch joined FHM in 1999 during its pre-launch period as beverage and entertainment director and New England manager.

MICHAEL DUFFY, JAN SIMPSON, and JOSHUA COOPER RAMO have all been promoted to assistant managing editors at Time magazine. Duffy has been serving as Washington Bureau chief. Simpson has served as senior editor of the arts & media section since December 1996. Ramo currently edits the World section of the magazine.

At Arbitron Inc., KEVIN PATRICK SMITH has been appointed senior vice president, Cable Services and PPM Business Development, LES TOLCHIN has been promoted to senior vice president, PPM Business Development, and JAY GUYTHER has been promoted to senior vice president, International PPM Marketing.

Bigfoot Interactive announced the additions of MICHAEL DELLA PENNA and VALERIE RYAN to help advance the company's marketing and sales initiatives. Penna most recently served as vice president of strategic development at CNET Networks, Inc. Ryan served as director of the U.S. SMB field sales team at Compaq Computer Corporation.

At ABC, John M. SADLER has been promoted to senior vice president and general manager of western division sales, MARY ELLEN HOLAHAN has been promoted to senior vice president and general manager of the Detroit sales division, and JOHN F. CARUSO has been promoted to vice president of primetime sales.

JOHN G. (JACK) MCDONALD, has been elected to CMGI, Inc.'s Board of Directors.

KEN FLOWER has been appointed VP/Market Manager for Americom's six Reno, NV stations (KBZZ, KPLY, KLCA, KODS, KRNO & KWNZ) as well as President of Reno Radio Representatives. RRR's previous President, SCOTT SEIDENSTRICKER, becomes co-Chairman of RRR with Americom President TOM QUINN.

JAMES L. SNYDER, all-news broadcast pioneer in the nation's capital, died Thursday. He was 76.
