Technorati Media Acquires AdEngage, Launches Ad Network

  • October 16, 2008
San Francisco-based blog search technology company Technorati has acquired AdEngage, an online advertising network and platform that displays more than 12 billion ads on more than 4,000 Web sites each month.

The AdEngage platform will form the base of Technorati Engage, a self-service advertising network of blogs and social media sites, which launched Wednesday as a private alpha.

The Technorati Media network was launched in June 2008 and includes more than 40 million unique users across 45 blogs and social media sites. The launch of Technorati Engage will help bloggers at all levels make money, while creating a vehicle for brand advertisers. Applying blog and social media sites will be evaluated against Technorati's content quality standards before they are accepted.--Tanya Irwin
