Journal Communications Sept. Revs Drop

Journal Communications announced that for the ninth period ended September 28, 2008, total revenues for its Publishing and Broadcast groups of $45.16 million decreased 5.6% compared to $47.82 million the previous year. Ad revenues of $38.31 million decreased 7.3%. At the Publishing segment, revenues at the daily newspaper and the community newspapers and shoppers totaled $23.33 million, down 9.5%. Advertising revenue was $16.48 million, down 14.6%. At the Broadcasting segment, total revenue at the company's radio and television stations of $21.83 million decreased 0.9%.
