BBDO Loses Pepsi After 48 Years

Change is everywhere. BBDO, New York has lost the Pepsi brand account after 48 years. TBWAChiatDay will now be the lead communications agency for the soft drink, which includes Diet Pepsi, reports Brandweek. Major media spending in the U.S. on Pepsi and Diet Pepsi--excluding the Net--exceeded $90 million last year, per Nielsen Monitor-Plus. One consolation: BBDO will still handle other Pepsi brands, like Pepsi Max and Mountain Dew, and will retain the Pepsi business outside the U.S.
