Glam Media Expands To Japan

Web content and ad network Glam Media on Tuesday announced its formal expansion into Japan with the launch of Glam Media Japan KK.

Glam Japan is headed by Yukihiro Yamamura, who joined the company as CEO of its newly formed subsidiary Glam Media Japan KK, and as a vice president of Glam Media, Inc., earlier this fall. Yamamura joined Glam from DoubleClick Japan where he was CEO and most recently from Excite Japan, where he was CEO since 1999.

Glam Japan launches with magazine partners and about 20 local Web publishers, blogs and sites including CanCan, Nikkei Woman and Cafeglobe. Luxury, beauty and consumer packaged good brands tied to the launch include Maybelline New York, Nihon L'Oreal, Fendi Japan, MHD Diageo Moet Hennessy, and ANA.

Glam Japan will include original editorial as well as content curated from the Glam Publisher Network including Japanese magazine publishers and sites.--Gavin O'Malley
