The "Summer Olympics" (NBC) monopolized the Nielsen Media Research prime-time ratings for the week of Sept- 18-24, occupying the top six listings and beating "NFL Monday Night Football" (ABC). The reached 164.83 million homes on Sunday, with a rating of 16.1, 15.87 million homes on Tuesday (15.5 rating), 15.29 million homes on Friday (15.0 rating), 15.23 million homes on Thursday (14.9 rating, 14.92 million homes on Wednesday (14.6 ratings), and 14.08 million homes on Monday (13.8 ratings). "NFL Monday Night Football" garnered a 13.5 rating, reaching 13.74 million homes.
