  • Uggs Regains Its Fashion Footing

    Looks like the fashionistas were right when they pronounced Uggs as "so over they are hot again." Deckers Outdoor Corp. says its net sales jumped 37.6% in the first quarter to $134.2 million, fueled by a 66.9% increase in Ugg sales, exceeding the company's expectations. Sales of its Teva footwear, however, declined 5.7%. The Goleta, Calif.-based company says net income for the quarter gained to $12.4 million, from $11.3 million in the same period of last year.   • Teen Downloads Billionth App From Apple

    Thirteen-year-old Connor Mulcahey of Weston, Conn. won a $10,000 iTunes gift card and iPod touch, a Time Capsule and a MacBook Pro as a result of downloading the one billionth application from Apple's App Store. The milestone was marked by a front page ad in Friday's New York Times. Started just nine months ago, the App Store has more than 35,000 applications available to owners of iPhones and iPod touches.     QSR Marble Slab Creamery is rebranding to better reflect its "gourmet ice cream experience." This spring, the chain, which has more than 390 locations in 35 states, Canada, Mexico, Lebanon, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and the U.A.E., will roll out redesigned packaging on all containers and point-of-purchase materials.
