TikTok Ban Receives Broad Support, Except From Gen Z

Most Americans support a bipartisan bill that would force Chinese technology giant ByteDance to sell the U.S. operations of popular social video app TikTok or face a ban. The one exception: Generation Z.

Democrat and Republican voters are in favor of a ban – one of the few issues that shows such agreement. Two-thirds (66%) of voters from party said they support the removal of TikTok from app stores in the United States, according to a survey by Harvard CAPS/Harris Poll.

People of all ages also support a possible ban, except for people ages 18-24. Fifty-seven percent of the Gen Z cohort are against the idea, a sign of TikTok’s support among the earliest adopters of the app.
