Just An Online Minute... A Weakness For The Week To Come

Next Week's Events AKA Where Did February Go?
February 23-27, 2009

It's been a quiet week around my neck of the woods party-wise, which is great -- it's given me time to apply my skills to other spots in the office. And no, one of those skills is not hanging by the water cooler. One of them is, however, perfecting the microwave timing of my Smart Ones faux egg breakfast sandwiches, which I don't eat to get skinny, I just happen to love how they taste. All that aside, I'll bet some of you have been burning the midnight oil around Fashion Week. How'd that go? Did you dive into any sandwich trays? Steal any champagne? Trip anyone in stilettos (not that I would condone that or anything)? I did none of those things as I save my energy for next week, which is bringing me 180 degree flip-flopped parties each day. Where do I start?

Monday kicks off with a shindig at Goldbar (yay, new location to investigate!) for "Running In Heels," a practice I try to avoid, but have done sometimes just to challenge myself. And men, don't think this isn't something that pertains to you -- you never know when The Big Boss will throw a team-building exercise your way with a "try walking in someone else's shoe" element to it. Note to self: tough actin' Tinactin. Oh, right, why such a party? Joanna Coles, editor in chief of Marie Claire, and the cast of the show "Running In Heels," premiering on The Style Network, are celebrating ... well... the premiere. I do not own stilettos for fear of broken ankles, but I'm sure I can find something to totter in.

Tuesday I'll be wallowing in the gutter. At Lucky Strike! That's right -- a bowling party! Ah, flashbacks to Just Say No! outings in middle school where my fingers were so tiny and my arms were so weak I usually skittered all over the lane in my too-big two-tone bowling shoes, weaving from the weight of that glossy pin beater. Hopefully I'll NOT embarrass myself -- or accidentally throw my camera -- joining the good people at Lotame as they show appreciation for the NYC agencies they work with.

Wednesday I'm going to try and hit some afternoon sessions and cover the cocktail party at the Digital Music Forum East, where music is working on its marriage with digital. I hope the relationship works out, since I'm emotionally invested in both.

Thursday is going to be a tough one; I'm trying to squeeze in two events after MediaPost's own OMMA Behavioral conference. But first, some juicy lucrative news!  I got JAOLM readers a special discount.  When you register for the conference, use the code "JAOLM2" (do not enter those quotes!) and you'll be attending for half the on-site registration price.  It's because I love you.  Give Rob, our marketing mastermind, a big squeeze when you see him (thanks Rob!).  Moving on...

Since I missed Digital DUMBO's first leap into the scene, I promised the most awesome Kristin Maverick of Carrot Creative that I wouldn't be pulling any no-show action this time. I'll be heading over the bridge and through the woods to reBar for a bit and then hopping back on the subway to hit the Digital Music Forum East reception at The Consulate General of Sweden. I feel like I should wear a ball gown, but that might make things weird.

Friday I have nothing but delicious coverage for you, and let's keep it that way -- I think that's enough running around in one week for a small girl like me, no? So, here's the big question -- will I be seeing you at any of these events?

March is already filling up - want to squeeze your event in? Send invitations to kelly@mediapost.com!

Regarding Behavioral, I'm very cool about being squeezed, so feel free!
