SheKnows Celebrates the Experts in New York City

SheKnows 10-24October 24, 2013 --- Last night fall finally arrived and all that was beautiful, sparkly and smart gathered at the Astor Center in New York City to celebrate the launch of "Experts Among Us", a new influencer program from the online women's destination SheKnows. The influencer network is designed to give content producers a platform to share their passion via articles, recipes, how to’s, and videos.

If you've never been to Astor Center, it's a beautiful brick building in an area called NoHo (north of Houston St.) that houses cooking classes, wine tastings and anything to do with culinary amazingness.
Astor Center is a foodie's Disney World, which made it the perfect for an event to showcase experts in the areas of flower arranging, dinner planning, mixology, and the beloved art of making the perfect dessert. The SheKnows event was structured to guide attendees through these interactive party stops seamlessly with stations that helped attendees perfect their skills in party planning, a great skill to hone leading up to the holidays and the SheKnows team set the bar high.

SheKnows 10-24The SheKnows team could be easily spotted, each team member lovelier than the next and all sporting colorful fresh flowers so they could be readily identified. I'm so glad it was 57 degrees out which forced me to wear my winter coat, thus causing me to be the size of a mack truck as I weaved in an out of the crowd of 200 beautiful people. CEO, Philippe Guelton was on-hand greeting each guest and being generally effervescent. Smarties from Google, Spotify, Hulu, Microsoft, BlogHer and About.com were in the house and representing.

Cocktails were flowing, there were food options for everyone (from make your own whoopie pies to a risotto station), plus there was swag! Having a stack of Tiffany boxes tied with ribbons and perched on a table near the door is definitely a way to keep attendees from straying from the party. I had to leave early (natch) so sadly what was inside will always remain a mystery....unless someone tweets it.
