Online marketing agency AvatarLabs has named Henrik Markarian as the company's new director of technology.

Markarian is responsible for directing and managing the cross-disciplinary development and execution of project specific and long-term corporate specific technical strategies for AvatarLabs. Additionally, he will represent and communicate the company's engineering and business philosophy, methodology and capabilities to current and potential clients, as well as across all departments, business units and service lines.

A 20-year veteran of the video game industry, Markarian started his career as a programmer with The Software Toolworks / Mindscape gaming company, and ultimately rose in the ranks to serve as the development director of the entire console division. In 1997, he co-founded Starsphere Interactive, a development studio based in Los Angeles, managing it for eight years. Following that venture, Markarian joined NovaLogic as the company's director of development, where he oversaw the efforts of the entire development department.--Tanya Irwin
