For New Campaign, Papa John Delivers -- Literally
To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Papa John's has launched an ad campaign featuring real footage of founder John Schnatter delivering pizzas to real customers.
The ads were shot over two days around Louisville, Ky, the chain's headquarters city, by Papa John's agency Z Group.
Schnatter delivered the pizzas in a replica of a '72 Z28 Camaro, in honor of a much-loved car that he sold to purchase the equipment for his first restaurant (which was located in a broom closet of his father's tavern).
In addition to the TV spots, the "Papa's In the House" campaign will include a new Web site, banner ads featuring the Camaro, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube integration, box toppers, and a special offer for the "Founder's Favorite" (Schnatter's favorite pizza, topped with sausage, pepperoni and a six-cheese blend).
Later this month, Schnatter will launch a nationwide road trip, also in the Camaro, to meet personally with employees and customers. Fans can follow his trip at papajohnsinthehouse.com.
