Comcast Offers Deal For Digitally Unprepared

  • June 1, 2009
Comcast Corp. has assembled rapid response installation teams to help consumers still unprepared for the digital broadcast transition, coming June 12. Consumers can call Comcast and have video service installed within 24 to 48 hours. For those with rabbit-ear TVs, Comcast will provide free basic cable for 12 months for new customers who sign up for at least one additional service. New customers who don't want extras get basic cable for $10 a month for one year. (Current customers can add basic cable to additional TVs at no additional monthly fee.) Basic cable in most areas has 20 to 30 channels, including broadcast, Univision, PBS and local neighborhood public television channels.
