ChristmasMint.com Postcard Ad Campaign Too Controversial?

  • December 1, 2000
Has AngryAdvertising crossed the line of good taste with its Holiday ad campaign for the Oregon Mint Snuff Company?

Starting today, Oregon Mint Snuff's free GoCard postcards will be distributed at kiosks in bars, clubs, hotels, bookstores and health clubs in New York, Denver, San Francisco and South Beach, Florida.

The postcards depict a comely naked girl clad only in Christmas tree ornaments, looking longingly at a Mint Snuff Pouches can.

"We'll do whatever it takes to place the client's message firmly on the brains of potential customers," states Michael Arnold, the driving force behind AngryAdvertising.

"If we offend a few people along the way... I apologize. But Mint Snuff Pouches are an affordable way to quit smoking and quit chewing tobacco. Quitting tobacco, particularly chewing tobacco, is not a story the news media readily picks up on... It's not sexy enough," Arnold says.
