Verizon Wireless To Offer Motorola's Droid

  • October 28, 2009
Verizon Wireless will begin offering Motorola's Droid smartphone, which uses Google's Android operating system, beginning Nov. 6. The two companies had been getting a lot of attention after running teaser ads earlier this month that mocked the iPhone with phrases that began with what the device didn't do, such as "iDon't run customizable apps." The ads ended with the line "Everything iDon't, Droid Does," leading users to a website, www.droiddoes.com.

The phone will be available for $199, with a new two-year customer contract and after a $100 rebate. --Aaron Baar
