Comcast Won't Sell NBC

Comcast executives have no plans to sell NBC Universal's broadcast TV business when they take control of the company, though Comcast CEO Brian Roberts admits NBC Universal's cable channels, such as CNBC and Bravo, were the driving force to buy a 51% stake from General Electric Co.

Roberts says, however, that his company's goal is to improve the fourth-place network's ratings rather than abandon the broadcast business, which as been hurt by the recession. Retrans fees for cable networks have helped them cushion some of the ad fallout.
