Burger King Intros Funnel Cake Sticks

Burger King has introduced Funnel Cake Sticks at participating restaurants nationwide.

The sticks, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside, are sprinkled with powdered sugar and dipped in a side dish of sweet icing. They come in nine-packs, at a suggested retail of $1.79.

The new item is an on-the-go, no-mess version of a carnival treat, noted Burger King Corp. SVP, global product marketing and innovation John Schaufelberger.

The launch is being supported by a carnival-themed 15-second TV spot, to air starting Dec. 17, in which "the King" demonstrates his fortune-telling abilities. Online ads, already live, are promoting the sticks as providing a "wonderland of frosted deliciousness."--Karlene Lukovitz
