Oxygen Debuts 7 New Shows For 2010

Oxygen says it has strengthened its development slate for spring 2010. The lineup focuses on seven new programs; some are aspirational, others are reality series.

Amy Introcaso-Davis, senior vice president, original programming and development, calls the slate "robust." She says the network's goal is to "give viewers a spectrum of choice across a diverse lineup of exciting concepts."

The new series run the gamut from a fashion game show to an association with Russell Simmons. The effort builds on Oxygen's success with "Bad Girls Club" and "Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood;" both just delivered their best season ratings to date.

On board for 2010: "Fashion Drop," a game show in which stylish audience members are tapped to showcase their fashion sense before a panel of judges. In the same vein, "Hair Battle Spectacular" showcases 10 superstars of fantasy hair design that compete to produce the most outrageous work.

A third fashion program, "House of Glam," follows B. Lynn Group, a hot styling agency that counts Rihanna and Naomi Campbell as clients. "Jersey Couture" is more personal -- an inside look at the Scali family's dress shop in the Garden State. The inventory, however, is not traditional; for the staff of Diane and Co., customers can indulge their every extravagant dream with dresses and accessories, be it a high-school prom or an elegant affair.

On the business front, "The Russell Simmons Project" takes a behind-the-scenes look at the women who manage Simmons' business empire. His powerful female staff run his life -- personal and professional -- from his office on Seventh Avenue in Manhattan.

By contrast, "When Charlie Met Sarah" promises a more romantic bent. The show chronicles the on-and-off-again relationship between Charlie O'Connell and Sarah, who were featured in 2005 on "The Bachelor." Similarly, "Love Games: Bad Girls Need Love Too" is a spin-off of the hit reality show "Bad Girls Club." Now, three former Bad Girls search for love from a pool of 13 eligible suitors. Comedian Bret Ernst hosts the eight one-hour episode show.

Available in 75 million homes, online at www.oxygen.com, or on mobile devices at wap.oxygen.com, Oxygen Media is part of NBC Universal.
