MediaPost Member Survey Results and GIVEAWAY WINNERS

As you know, MediaPost recently conducted a quick survey of our members to find out how we can better serve their needs. As promised, we wanted to share with you some of the results of the survey.

Here's a breakdown: out of 2,713 respondents, 67% are involved in the media planning or buying decisions for their agency or company.

Of those, 73% plan or buy Internet media, followed by magazines (66%), Newspapers 60%), Television/Cable (54%), Radio (54%) and Out-of-Home (42%). The overlap speaks volumes for cross-media planning!

As far as ad formats are concerned, we were not surprised to find out that banners rule the advertising format category, with 85% of respondents having used them.

Banners were predictably followed by email (78%), sponsorships (57%), Rich Media (34%) and tower ads, which have been used by a surprisingly high 26% of respondents.

What will the future bring? Despite the widespread pessimism, in the next year, 70% see their company's use of the web as an ad medium increasing, 26% think their usage won't change and only 4% think their ad spending online will decrease.

None of these are groundbreaking discoveries, of course, but we thought you might want to know what your fellow MediaPost members have been up to.
