That’s what Marita Scarfi, COO of Omnicom’s Organic shop, said the “big evolution� in the Web has been since its inception in the mid-90s.
She called the first iteration the “Web .0,� which was focused mainly on e-commerce, but fast-forward to today, and she says that it’s really now about everything digital, including things decidedly not on the Web.
“The evolution has been digital,� she said. “That means we look at the industry much broader than just a browser. We look at mobile, and the places that are evolving digital out-of-home. We look at the Kindle.�
