Ford's Lincoln division unveiled its first hybrid at the New York International Auto Show on Wednesday. The company says the 2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid will be the most fuel-efficient luxury sedan in America.

The company says the car, which goes on sale this fall, will get at least 41 miles per gallon in the city. Other Ford hybrids are the Fusion Hybrid, Ford Escape Hybrid and Mercury Milan and Mariner Hybrids.

Ford says it is introducing five new electric powertrain vehicles by 2013 including the Transit Connect Electric late this year, the Focus Electric in 2011, a next-generation hybrid electric vehicle and a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle in 2012, followed by another next-generation hybrid electric vehicle in 2013.--Karl Greenberg
