Web hosting services provider iStreamPlanet now plans to fully integrate Microsoft Silverlight 4 into its Video Workflow Automation Platform. System enhancements include Webcam and microphone support as well as the ability for publishers to create one application that is optimized across all major browsers on Mac, Windows, and Linux operating systems.

IStreamPlanet has worked with Microsoft since it debuted Silverlight back in early 2007. The plug-in for playing media files and displaying interactive Web applications was introduced as part of a full suite of cross-platform Web development tools for both Windows and Mac operating systems. Despite stiff competition from Adobe's omnipresent Flash player, Silverlight continues to make inroads. Just this week, video ad network YuMe announced that its ACE ad platform would now support Silverlight.
