In 2010, WOMMA has added two new award categories: Social media and innovation. The other categories are introduction, momentum, experiential and research. Submissions must be in market at some point since January 2009. The award-winning entries from 2009 may not be reentered, but 2009 non-winners may reenter, provided the resubmission includes new information in regards to insight, creative and/or effectiveness.
WOMMA is beefing up the promotion of the award winners to ensure better recognition of all winners. All case studies from WOMMY award winners will be showcased in the 2010 Word of Mouth Works: Award Winning Examples of Effective WOM Campaigns. Winners will also be recognized during the WOMMY Awards luncheon during the WOMMA Summit, Nov. 17-19 in Las Vegas, and published in WOMMA's online case study library.
Since 2006, the Word of Mouth Marketing Association WOMMY awards program has recognized the people, agencies, and brands behind word-of-mouth marketing campaigns.--Tanya Irwin
