"It's a way for us to
present to customers a way they can personalize their flight experience," says Dan Garton, American's evp of marketing. "These are all privileges or opportunities that people didn't have before."
Depending on the length of the flight, customers booking on the AA Web site pay an additional $9, $14 or $19 to get the services. The early boarding option will be available by itself for purchase at self-service kiosks in U.S. airports and many overseas for $10 each way later this summer.
