Avon To Launch Singing/Songwriting Contest

Avon says it will launch a global online contest called Avon Voices on Dec. 1. The contest will be judged by singer Fergie, along with uber-songwriter Diane Warren, who has cranked out such hits as "How Do I Live" and "Unbreak My Heart."
Avon, which bills itself as "The company for women," says the contest will include a singing portion for women, but that the songwriting portion of the competition will be open to both men and women. The contest is a first for Avon.
A company spokesperson declined to answer questions about how the project will be marketed, if any of the winners will be televised, or whether Fergie will promote the effort, adding that more details will be available closer to the contest kick-off.
