Post-Jacoby, VW Promotes Browning To CEO in U.S.

Volkswagen Group of America has promoted Jonathan Browning to president and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America effective Oct. 1. He is currently responsible for the global direction of the Volkswagen Group's National Sales Companies.

Browning succeeds Stefan Jacoby, who has left the company. Browning, who has held executive sales and marketing posts at General Motors and Ford, was VP of European sales, service and marketing at the GM Group and later GM VP of global sales, service and marketing. Prior to that, he was global managing director of Jaguar. He moved to the Volkswagen Group in June 2010.

The automaker is setting a goal to be a mass-market brand in the U.S. selling 200,000 Audi brand models and 800,000 Volkswagen brand models in 2018.
